Once upon a time, way back in 2008, the Soonta journey began with a teeny-tiny shop on Waymouth Street. We had a simple mission: to eat tasty, eat healthy, and make the world a happier place, one meal at a time!
Flash forward almost 15 years, and we’ve grown like a beanstalk, with 19 franchise stores sprouting up all around South Australia and Queensland. We’re like the little eatery that could!
But even as we’ve grown and evolved, one thing remains constant: our purpose is still as simple and as pure as the day we started. We believe that food is more than just fuel for our bodies – it’s a way of bringing people together, sparking joy, and spreading love.

Our founder, School Time, came up with our name back in 2008, inspired by the Asian slang word ‘Soonta’, which means ‘that’s so good’ – and trust us, it really is! From our Banh Mi and Bun Bowls to our Cold Rolls, every bite is a sensory explosion that will leave you craving more. So go ahead, take a bite, and experience the magic of Soonta for yourself!
Our Soonta logo represents our ability to reinvent, renew and refresh, whilst remaining true to our origins. Our motif of a hybrid duck and dragon showcases the blend of East and West in Vietnamese fusion, with the flavourful mix of our food traditions with both Asian and French cultures. The duck illustrates our nutritious and tasty food, while the dragon personifies prosperity, power, and strength.
